How Impatiens came to be. �Lynette Yencho There was once a faerie who couldn't decide what color to wear at the summer Equinox. She became so distressed she exploded and wherever the bits fell to the ground up popped an electric colored flower, each one a different color.
So when you decide to pop one of the pods you see on an impatient, in flower, in the fall, you are helping the faeries decided what color to wear.
Lynette Yencho (aka Lynette Schmidt) lives in rural southern Minnesota (USA) in an oversized one-time farm house that was built in 1880. The members of this household entail husband Michael, Feargus the Scottish Terrier, Jessie the English Cocker Spaniel, Tinker the McCaw, Bobbie and Missie the cats. A freelance artist for over 30 years, she has a studio in the home and offer services graphics, illustration, painting, sculpting, and design of all sorts.
